Image links lack alternate text

Bug Description:

The image links in the left navigation panel and the social media image links in the footer section do not have a textual description. Without an appropriate textual description, assistive technology users may not understand the purpose of these image links. For example, screen readers may announce the "href" value if the links do not have textual description.
